Earl, age 19, enlisted July 14, 1861, at Newburgh to serve three years. He was mustered into Co. A on July 31, 1861. He was promoted to corporal Sept. 4, 1862. He was mustered out Aug. 16, 1864.
Daniel A. Masten, Co. A
Masten (spelled Maston in regimental history), age 28, enlisted at Goshen, N.Y., to serve one year, and was mustered in as a private Aug. 15, 1864. John Metcalf, Co. A
Metcalf, 21, enlisted Aug. 1, 1861, at Goshen to serve three years and was mustered in as a private Aug. 16, 1861. He was promoted to sergeant-major Aug. 8, 1862, and was commissioned first lieutenant Dec. 23, 1863. He was promoted to captain May 15, 1865, and was mustered out March 5, 1866, at Hart's Island New York Harbor. Metcalf is wearing a regulation infantry pattern greatcoat.
